Their talents are world-class, as is their electrifying stage presence. They both carry themselves on stage with exceptional confidence and remind me of famous performers of generations past and they are an absolute pleasure to listen to and watch in action. Their incredible performance skills go hand in hand with a beautiful character trait of modesty and excellent manners. They are both nice, well-educated, polite and full of musical humility – these features describing their personalities are rare in today’s world.

Their interpretations are extremely interesting, virtuosic and full of energy. Artists engage in emotional dialogue with each other. These are musicians who are the most outstanding in their profession and make each performance a unique event. This is a violin duet consisting of extremely talented and sensitive instrumentalists. I was thoroughly enchanted and surprised by the ingenuity of their interpretation, freshness and, at the same time, above-average maturity, musicality, great sound and timbre values, as well as highly developed precision and technique. This duet is a meeting and combination of two outstanding personalities who cannot be ignored. I am sure that this ensemble, with its range of skills, is on the threshold of an international career.

The Polish Violin Duo’s playing impresses with its excellent technique and unique musicality. Artists with great sensitivity and strong emotionality create the sound world of the interpreted pieces. Together they discover the depth of the musical message and search for its meaning. They perfectly interpret the stylistic features of the presented works as well as their formal concept. The outstanding chamber playing, partnership and dialogue skills of both instrumentalists should also be emphasized.

Concert reviews

“[…] The similarity of the musical expressions and sensitivity of Gidaszewska and Łaguniak (who have been playing together as the Polish Violin Duo since 2014) allowed for the illusion that not two violins, but one instrument were in dialogue with the piano. The unified playing style, probably achieved thanks to the closeness of the characters, was strengthened by the developed technique, metronomic precision and active cooperation of all three.”

“[…] his [Robert’s] musicality and, above all, his beautiful, pampered sound fall on the ears. Marta Gidaszewska, like Łaguniak, is a very emotional violinist […] Performance of [Suite for two violins and piano, Op. 71 by Maurycy Moszkowski] the audience liked it so much […] that they encouraged the artists to do an encore.”

Dorota Szwarcman, Polityka blog

“[…] it was enough to listen to the first bars of the music they created to be stunned. It was hard to believe that so many sounds and such a powerful sound came from two violins. But in what hands! Listening to them, it was easier to understand where the dizzying career of the POLISH VIOLIN DUO that we are witnessing comes from. The whole world is enchanted by the Polish duet […][…] The whole world evaluates the performances of the young Polish violin duet as a unique phenomenon, admiring the musicians’ extraordinary maturity in using sound techniques. Music critics say that this is the best violin duet in the world! […]”

“[…] The violin duo Gidaszewska/Łaguniak Duo from Poland, the winner in the chamber ensembles category, aroused even greater admiration. The young artists created a delightful spectacle, a real violin show that can delight even people who do not normally listen to classical music. It’s surprising that such a fantastic violinist war has not yet been popularized by the most important television stations and world media. […]”

“[…] Excellent concert interpretations showed that young people with great interest and passion search for and reach for these lesser-known compositions created in the 20th century, discovering their extraordinary value and sound qualities, vitality and mood, perfect structure and universal message, simply enjoying pure pleasure of listening to this music. “[…] The “Gulliver” suite for two violins by Georg Philipp Telemann was a kind of introduction, a charming prelude to what was to happen next. The most famous Bach’s Concerto in D minor for 2 violins, BWV 1043, already played with the orchestra, enchanted and delighted the listeners with its ineffable mastery. The next pieces, Caprice for 2 violins, Op. 18 No. 1 and 3 by Henryk Wieniawski was played only by soloists, only confirmed that they feel extremely confident not only in virtuoso compositions, but also in music from different eras. What is more, they impress with their incredible coordination and understanding that allows for much more. The finale of the concert was contemporary, but equally virtuosic: Divertimento for two violins and piano and Souvenir by the Russian composer Igor Frolov, and at the end – with an encore, of course, it could not have been otherwise – Czardas by the American composer Michael McLean, won the audience over. Some voices could be heard that the concert was too short. […]”

“[…] The violin duo Gidaszewska/Łaguniak Duo from Poland, the winner in the chamber ensembles category, aroused even greater admiration. The young artists created a delightful spectacle, a real violin show that can delight even people who do not normally listen to classical music. It is surprising that such a sensational pair of violinists has not yet been popularized by the largest television stations and world media. Let’s hope that this will happen now, after the Rzeszów competition, and that thanks to the duo, masterpieces will be created by, among others, Grażyna Bacewicz, Michał Spisak and Tadeusz Paciorkiewicz will enter the international circuit of musical art.”

“[…] Once seen, this unique and sensitive musical commitment can never be forgotten. Both have emerged as inspired performers who use what could be called a “paramusical” psychological understanding of man, the notion of the bond of love that we all share, to deepen the musical spectacle presented to us. This non-apologetic, almost theatrical intimacy on stage deeply affects us, taking us to a deeper dimension, another sphere of musical appreciation.”
